James Todd Eichenberger
April 11, 1952 – March 2, 2019
Christian Standard Media lost a good friend and valued ministry partner on Saturday, March 2, 2019, when James Todd “Jim” Eichenberger went home to be with his Lord following complications from surgery.
Readers of The Lookout, and especially those who engage in The Lookout’s weekly Bible study plan, will remember Jim as the author of our weekly Bible study questions for Sunday school classes and small groups.
Jim’s keen intellect, inquisitive spirit, and love for the truth made him a gifted writer and teacher. He was an engaging conversationalist who compelled those around him to think deeply about God and his work in the world. Jim’s many published works are a testament to his talent.
When I returned to The Lookout as editor and we began to cast a new vision for the magazine, a key component of our discussion centered on finding a writer who would consistently challenge our readers from week to week to consider and apply the truth of God’s Word. I thought immediately of Jim and was delighted when he accepted the challenge. From then on, Jim and I met for breakfast monthly to talk about his work with The Lookout, to challenge one another in our personal walk with God, and to trade stories about our families and ministries. They were enriching times.
We’ll miss Jim as a ministry partner. I’ll miss him as a friend. I’ll remember with deep gratitude the time we spent together in this life, and I’ll anticipate the day when we’ll meet again in the presence of the Lord.
Thank you, Jim. For everything.
