Finish well. Judah’s King Asa was a breath of fresh air. In his devotion to God, he destroyed the nation’s rampant idolatry, led the people in a renewal of their covenant with God, and even deposed his grandmother because of the repulsive image she worshiped. When Asa’s army was overwhelmingly outnumbered, he turned to the Lord for victory and God crushed the Cushite troops. For 35 years Asa witnessed God’s faithfulness, but then sought an alliance with the Aramean king. It was his greatest mistake. Trust God all your years. Serve him faithfully until you draw your last breath. Finish well!
