What injustices in the world are you most zealous about? Why?
Read Isaiah 59:15-21.
Here in Isaiah when God looked around at the world he created, what did he see? What did he seem most upset about?
Most commentators believe that “his own arm” refers to the Messiah. With that in mind, how did Jesus fulfill the prophecy in this chapter?
As you look through this passage, what did God do that only he could do?
What is promised to God’s enemies? What is promised to those who repent? (See Romans 5:6-10.)
What is the Spirit’s continuing role (John 14:16; 16:7-13)?
Joe Ellis described our relationship with God as a human/divine partnership. We cannot carry out God’s work without him, and he has ordained not to do it without us. How do you know when it’s time to intervene, to be salt and light, to fight injustice in God’s name?
