1. Bring a map of the United States to the group. Pass the map around and, one by one, share with the group:
• where you were born.
• the place you spent most of your life.
• the place you most enjoyed visiting on a trip.
• the place where God first became a true joy in your life.
Read Hebrews 10:19-31.
2. How do you “hold unswervingly to hope” even in tough times? How can our “meeting together” keep us from getting discouraged?
3. What does it mean to “spur one another on toward love and good deeds”? What are some examples?
4. What has someone done for you in the past that’s spurred you on to love and good deeds?
5. Plan a “spur project” where, as a group, you decide how you are going to spur someone (or several people) on to love and good deeds. Pray over your plans before deciding the details. (Examples include: have your group visit a chronically ill person and help her with a house project, offer to provide child care for another small group for a month, start a prayer blog for your group or your entire church so people can submit requests for prayer.)
