1. Have everyone draw a fuel tank gauge on a piece of paper including the E (empty) and F (full) markers. Ask group members to place an indicator needle at the appropriate spot to depict his or her spiritual fuel tank right now. Ask members to show their fuel tank gauges to the rest of the group and explain why their needle is where it is.
Read Daniel 7:1-3, 9-14.
2. What word pictures from these verses give you a sense of awe?
3. How does this vision of the Lord’s presence change your preconceived ideas of what being with the Lord is like?
4. In what situations in your life right now do you need an eternal perspective?
5. What does the phrase “Ancient of Days” mean to you? What confidence does this description of the Lord give you as you face everyday situations in life?
6. Close your group time using the fuel gauges from the icebreaker. Ask group members to write words around their fuel gauges that describe the Lord according to these verses. Spend time praying and praising God using those words. Ask the Lord to fill your tank to overflowing.
