1. Ask everyone in the group to choose a number silently from 1 to 6. Depending on the number chosen by each group member, ask members to answer one of the following questions:
• What was one of the happiest days of your life?
• What was one of the saddest days of your life?
• What famous person would you like to have dinner with?
• What would you do if you won a million dollars?
• What is your favorite hobby and how did you first come to enjoy it?
• If you were forced to move out of your current state, where would you choose to live and why?
Read Genesis 9:1, 3-6, 8-17.
2. As Noah and his family emerged from the ark as sole survivors of a worldwide catastrophe, what fears might they have had as they faced a whole new world? (Examples may include “What will I eat?” and “Will I be lonely?”)
3. What did the Lord say to calm their fears? Make a list of the things the Lord instructed Noah’s family to do.
4. What fears do you struggle with today? Which of God’s instructions or promises helps you replace your fears with courage?
5. Close by asking group members to share one fear they currently struggle with, and then have the group pray for each other in these areas.
