1. Growing up, which days of the year were the biggest celebrations for your family? What did you do on those days?

Read Leviticus 23:33-43.

2. What words are used to describe the tenor of and the people’s attitude toward the Feast of Tabernacles (also known as the Festival of Booths)?

3. Why was it important for the Israelites to remember their wilderness journeys and how they lived during that period of their history?

4. In verse 38, Moses was told that these offerings were “in addition to” their normal gifts and offerings. How do you usually respond to requests or demands that are in addition to your normal obligations at home? at work? at church?

5. This festival looked back to the time of the exodus and it looked forward to the future kingdom when the Messiah comes back to gather his people and restore the nation of Israel (Zechariah 14:16-19). From the descriptions of this event in verses 40 and 41, what will that day be like?

6. This month we have studied three important feasts—Passover, Festival of Weeks/Pentecost, and Tabernacles—and all have relevance for our lives as new covenant followers of Christ. They look forward to Jesus’ death, resurrection, and return. Close in prayer, joyfully thanking the Lord your God for his power, provision, and purposes.
